They will attend Children’s Church where, each week, they will receive Bible teaching and explanation delivered in a relevant, fun and lively way along with singing, worksheets and craft activities. We follow a 4 year teaching programme which covers both Old and New Testament and the basics of the Christian faith.
All the children start off with the adults in Church at either the 9.15am or 11am service. (There is no Children's Chruch during the summer holidays but there is alternative provision) The first 15 minutes of the service is a child-friendly time and this will include a slot to introduce the whole congregation to what the children will later hear in Children’s Church.
When announced the youngsters leave for Children’s Church with their leaders for their own teaching which takes place in classrooms nearby. The children spend the first 20 minutes as one large group where they receive Bible teaching explained through a mixture of story telling, drama, songs, quizzes and visual aids. They then break into small groups based on their particular school year. A teacher devoted to that particular group leads them each week. Their teacher will use worksheets, crafts and age appropriate study material to reinforce the teaching for the week.
At Children’s Church we seek to provide a safe, caring and enjoyable environment where youngsters can hear and understand the Gospel and where they are able to make and nurture a relationship with Jesus.
To conform to Child Protection Policy, all new children are registered on their first attendance and any health or other issues are noted. A responsible adult should therefore accompany a child to the Hall when they first attend and thereafter to pick them up at the end of the adult service.
All leaders are cleared to work with children in accordance with Child Protection Policy.
