The doors of CYFA are open to anyone between the ages of 14-18 who is a Christian, or wants to find out more about Christianity and living as a Christian in today's world. The CYFA group meet together as a whole group on a Monday night, and in small groups throughout the week. We also meet up for socials throughout each term.
Monday Night CYFA
The main CYFA meeting on a Monday night starts at 8.00pm at a home in Harold Wood. The meeting is a relaxed magazine-style meeting with various elements that centre around a main talk. These elements aim to help or teach CYFAs about what it means to be a Christian in 21st century Britain. They do this in five ways: by encouraging prayer, providing opportunity to give personal testimony, deepening fellowship (both in the group and in the wider church), focusing on mission and service, and teaching the Bible. The main talk is based on a passage of the Bible or a biblical topic and is aimed to apply the God's word to the cultural context that the CYFAs are in.
CYFA Small Groups
Much like the adult small groups that meet around the parish during the week, CYFA small groups meet to go a bit deeper and explore the Bible at a much more personal and relevant level. In a small group, each member can ask more specific questions about being a Christian, and the group also supports one another in prayer.
